Job title : Soft good Engineer

Joolz is a fast growing ambitious brand, aiming to improve and further expand its current premium product portfolio. Being in the position of Joolz soft good Engineer Product Development, you will be working on different product development projects. As part of the Joolz team, you create technical designs for new or modified products and supervise technical execution up to the time that the product goes into production, working closely together with the other engineers, the designers and the Soft good Sourcing & Project manager.


You will be responsible for the creation of technical designs for new soft good products and ensure that they satisfy the applicable requirements in terms of function and styling. You will participate in new and existing product development projects in cross functional teams. As one of the team members of the cross functional project team you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Indicate and coordinate complex changes to existing products
  • Coordinate and monitor activities related to technical testing and improvement of the product
  • Manage and update product specifications, make sure all relevant details are mentioned including warnings, labelling and so on
  • Manage the project-based information and documentation including specifications and golden samples, making sure there is a consistent way of archiving
  • Follow the design right up to the production stage to ensure that the products can be manufactured in accordance with the technical specifications
  • Check, comment, approve and sign off fabrics, colors and (golden) samples
  • Help to professionalize the process of soft good product specifications and sampling 


  • You are keen in creating new designs, concepts and also in solving problems

  • You have a good combination of practical & analytical capabilities;
  • You are able to work in a dynamic environment and have a hands on mentality


  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial design
  • You have min 3 years, preferably more than 5 years of working experience in product engineering with a focus on textile and/or soft goods
  • You have experience in working together with (textile) designers and manufactures
  • You have knowledge of fabric processes and textile mass production
  • Proficient with Office and Adobe (illustrator/Indesign/photoshop)
  • Knowledge of Solidworks is a pre
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
